- Stewardship
- Our responsibility is to keep before the members of the congregation
the fact that as Christians we are stewards of all of life - our time,
our talents, our possessions - managers of God’s gifts. Much of our
work is concentrated in the last half of the year, during the months
of Stewardship emphasis when we challenge members to grow in their commitment
to the ministry of our congregation and the church around the world.
In this process, we encourage members to grow in their progress giving
toward a tithe (10%). A favorite definition is: 'Stewardship is what
I do after I say "I believe."'
-
Members: Judy Larsen (chair), John Allured, Karen Krogh, Lisa Krogh, Joyce Rice
- Worship, Arts,
and Music
- This committee is responsible for overseeing the worship life of
the congregation. We accomplish this through the recruitment, training,
and support of members as ushers, acolytes, vocal and instrumental musicians,
assisting ministers, and altar guild servers. We work with the Pastor
and Director of Music and Liturgy to center the worship service in the
Word and Sacrament. One of our goals is to expand the use of the visual
arts in the context of worship. We normally meet every other month,
and would welcome your input and participation.
Members: Susan Scott (chair), Beverly Grove, Jill Knuth, Stephanie Leong, Katherine McKee, George Yule, Jr.
Mission.
As a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we are called to reach out to persons with the Gospel, to nourish individual and corporate faith through word and sacrament, learning and fellowship, and to express Christ's love in meeting human need. In fulfillment of this calling we commit ourselves to action.
