Disaster Preparedness
We have a great program scheduled for the next Men's Breakfast. Patrick Muffler, a representative from the local Palo Alto Neighborhood Disaster Activity (PANDA) group in Palo Alto will join us for breakfast and a discussion inspired by recent events in Louisiana and Texas. We need to be better prepared as a congregation in the event of an emergency, and connecting with the PANDA group is a great way to get information for ourselves as well.
Looking forward to seeing you on November 5. The breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m. and the programs will end by 10:00 a.m. Please RSVP to John King or give him a call.
We still need some volunteers to help set up, cook and then clean up after. Let John know how you would like to assist.
Previous Men's Breakfasts have played host to a wide variety of
interesting speakers including Amos M. Nur, Ph.D., Don Peterson, Dick Grote
and Dick Begley, Dr. Ken Dole, Prof. Russ Lundholm, David Gaskill,
Pr. Eric Utto-Galarneau, Daryl Ogden, Nick Larsen, Joe Haletky, Carol Larson,
Ross Winetsky, Bill McGuigan, and Pr. Bruce Johnson.
Topics have run the gamut from "A View from the Streets," an update on
Urban Ministry of Palo Alto, "Living with AIDS," "CHINA: Beyond the Great Wall,"
to "Microelectronics: The World of Small."
